Who is Behind Jackpot Scope?
Our Story
We didn’t plan to build a website. We planned to leave the casino industry, and to stop keeping quiet about how it works.
Between us, we’ve spent years on the other side of the machines. That’s long enough to know that most of what players believe about slots isn’t how slots work: that a machine can be “due,” that the stop button changes anything, that the RTP on the box is the RTP you’re playing. It’s also long enough to see how much of the business players are never shown.
So we started Jackpot Scope, first as a YouTube channel explaining how slot machines and the casino business really work. We tell it the way we’d explain it to a friend, not the way a marketing department would. This site is the next part: the licensed casinos where you live, and what their slots actually pay.
Why "Jackpot Scope"
A scope is for examining something closely, not for telling you what you want to hear. That’s the whole premise. We don’t cover whether a slot is fun. We cover what’s inside it: the RTP, the volatility, which version of the game a casino is running, and what the licence behind it actually covers.
What We Actually Do
Two things, that feed each other:
- On YouTube, as Secrets of Ex-Casino Employees, we break down slot mechanics, floor psychology and the regulatory reality most players never see, with our sources listed for every video.
- Here and inside The Inside Scope, we put that knowledge to work. We check each casino's licence, and we check what its slots actually pay where you live.
How We Vet Every Casino On The List
Licensing first, no exceptions
Licensing is issued jurisdiction by jurisdiction. Before a casino appears on the page for your state, province or country, we confirm it’s licensed by that jurisdiction’s regulator. If it isn’t, it doesn’t get listed.
RTP as the casino shows it, not as it's advertised
The same slot can run at different RTPs at different casinos, so we don’t take the provider’s headline number. Our team checks slots at each casino we list, in that jurisdiction, and publishes the RTP that casino actually shows, with the date we checked. That’s The Slots Index, inside every casino listing. Only slots showing 96% or more make it in.
Re-checked regularly
Game settings and lineups change. We re-check the slots we publish regularly, and every figure carries the date it was last checked.
How We Make Money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up with a casino through one, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. That’s how the videos and the newsletter stay free. Although the order casinos appear in may reflect our commercial agreements, the RTPs we show are published exactly as we found them, whatever the agreement.
Our Standards
- We never guarantee or imply a win.
- We never recommend an unlicensed or unregulated operator for a licensed jurisdiction
- We only publish RTPs our team has seen at that casino. We never pass off a provider's advertised figure as a casino's.
- A higher RTP doesn't make you more likely to win in a session, and we'll never suggest it does.
