Who is Behind Jackpot Scope?
Our Story
We didn’t plan to build a website. We planned to leave the industry – and to stop pretending we hadn’t seen what we’d seen.
Between the group of us, we’ve worked the floor, run surveillance, and signed off on compliance paperwork most players never know exists. We watched machines get pulled and swapped based on performance data no one ever explained to the people playing them. We knew which operators cut corners and which ones didn’t, because we’d seen the audits.
So we started Jackpot Scope – first as a YouTube channel breaking down how slot machines and casino operators actually work, told the way we’d explain it to a friend, not the way a marketing department would. This site is the next part of that: a place to publish the operators we’ve actually checked, using the same method we teach for free.
Why "Jackpot Scope"
A scope is for examining something closely – not for telling you what you want to hear about it. That’s the whole premise: we don’t cover whether a slot is fun. We cover what’s actually inside it – the RTP configuration, the volatility, the certification – and whether the operator running it is straight with you.
What We Actually Do
Two things, that feed each other:
- On YouTube, as Secrets of Ex-Casino Employees, we break down slot mechanics, casino floor psychology, and the regulatory reality most players never see.
- Here and inside The Inside Scope, we apply that same standard to actual operators - checking licensing and verifying RTP before anything gets recommended.
Nothing on this site is written by someone who’s never worked the other side of the counter.
How We Vet Every Casino On The List
Licensing first, no exceptions
Licensing is issued jurisdiction by jurisdiction. We check for a legitimate, current license from a recognized regulator before anything else – an unlicensed site doesn’t get a second look, no matter what its numbers claim to show.
RTP, verified - not advertised
Providers ship multiple certified RTP configurations of the same game. We check which configuration is actually running on a given platform, and whether that number is independently tested by a lab like eCOGRA, iTech Labs, GLI, or BMM – not just self-reported by the operator.
We recheck, not just at launch
Configurations and terms change. An operator earning a place on The Slots Index gets rechecked on an ongoing basis, not verified once and left alone indefinitely.
Our Standards
- We never guarantee or imply a win.
- We never recommend an unlicensed or unregulated operator, regardless of terms offered.
- Every asset we give away (the Checklist, the Index) uses the exact same method as everything we publish.
A Word On Responsible Gambling
Slots are a negative-expectation game, and no checklist, index, or ranking changes that underlying math. What we can do is help you play with better information and clearer limits. Set a budget before you start, treat any loss as the price of entertainment, and walk away if it stops being fun. If it ever feels like more than that, the National Council on Problem Gambling (1-800-522-4700) offers free, confidential support 24/7.
